Shopify's payment reminders

Shopify can email buyers automatic reminders for orders with payment terms: up to five, from the due date to 30 days after it. Termpact sends account statements and its own reminders for the locations it manages. With both on, a buyer could get two reminders for the same invoice.

Shopify doesn’t let apps read or change these settings, so the Check Shopify’s payment reminders step on Today asks you to look yourself.

  1. In Shopify admin, open Settings and type payment reminders in the settings search. The page isn’t in the Settings menu; its address is admin.shopify.com/store/<your store>/settings/payment_reminders. It lists the reminders Shopify sends (“Automatically email customers on or after the due date for unpaid orders”); Add payment reminder adds one. The email itself is under Settings → Notifications → Customer notifications → Payments → Payment reminder.
  2. Decide:
    • Turn Shopify’s reminders off (remove them on that page) if Termpact sends reminders for your B2B buyers. This avoids duplicates.
    • Keep them on if you only use Termpact for statements, or if you’d rather keep Shopify’s reminders.
  3. Back on Today, select I’ve checked them.

You can change your mind at any time; the step only records that you’ve looked.
